Great East Rail Trail Ride

Beginning in 2014 the Great East has been an annual event (excluding 2020/21 due to Covid) on the East Gippsland Rail Trail. 

It is a fully supported event, complete with riding support enroute, support wagon and first aid responders. As well as all meals and entertainment included.

Autumn GREAT EAST 

Friday 3rd May - Monday 6th May 2024

The Great East Rail Trail Ride with an Autumn twist! 

Bringing you this fantastic 3 day, 120km fully support cycling event as a based location in Autumn meaning you are in the comfort of your camp or accommodation for 3 nights! 

Friday 3rd May

From 2pm arrive at Mingling Waters, Nowa Nowa 

Event check in, camp/accommodation set up

4pm: Camp fire, live music

5pm Trivia

6pm Dinner

7pm: Trivia continued

 

Saturday 4th May

7am Breakfast - Orbost Rotary

8am Depart for Bairnsdale

9am Ride to Nicholson River Winery

10am Morning tea at Nicholson River Winery

1pm Lunch at Bruthen Inn Hotel

2:20pm Tambo Valley Honey tasting

3pm Bus departs for Nowa Nowa

4pm Georgia Angus, Author/Artist talk

5pm River walk with Georgia, Massage, Bike Maintenance

6pm Dinner 

7pm Activity

 

Sunday 5th May

7am Breakfast: Orbost Rotary

8.30 Bus departs to Bruthen

9.30 Ride Bruthen to Wyanga Park Winery via Gippsland Lakes Discovery Trail

10:30am Coffee enroute at Lakes Colquhoun Rd: Flat Bickie

12pm Platter on arrival at Wyanga Park Winery, followed by sit down lunch

2-3pm Bus shuttles to Nowa Nowa

6pm Dinner:

6:30pm Camp fire and live music

 

Monday 6th May

7am Breakfast: Orbost Rotary

8:30am Ride to Nowa Nowa to Orbost

10:30am Coffee enroute at Partellis Crosssing: Flat Bickie

12:30pm Arrive at Sailors Grave for lunch and brewery tour

1:30-3pm Bus shuttles to Nowa Nowa
